ALICE
Seemed really blunt and to-the-point; was very no-nonsense with Cynthia. Jake didn't know her that well. She vanished the day after the dinner party with Saturn, which weirds him out in terms of timing, but he's hoping she and Eru just struck out on their own and are still wandering around out there. |
ARI
Always seems polite to their native-to-Sinnoh overlords, even people like Saturn. Jake doesn't know him all that well yet. |
AYA MARUYAMA
Really cute bubbly thing that's out to run lemonade stands and save the world one song at a time. She's apparently a member of a band back home; Jake likes her okay, but he thinks she's probably in way over her head in this situation. He doesn't think it's fair that she was dragged into this; he's not exactly friends with her or anything, but he'd like to try to keep an eye on her, or at least make sure somebody does. |
BUCKY BARNES
One-armed soldier from WWII, apparently captured by some Nazi offshoot group called HYDRA. Got his arm shot off by a laser cannon. His boyfriend is apparently awesome? That said, though, Bucky is good people. Pretty traumatized by everything, but Jake actually trusts him a lot more than he trusts most people in the group; he feels like Bucky gets it in ways that a lot of people here don't. |
CAMILLA | "LIZZIE BORDEN"
Princess with a bunch of siblings, because apparently her dad slept with Goddamn Everyone or something. She fights with giant axes and is pretty much the most attractive person Jake has ever seen for a lot of reasons; that said, he likes talking to her, even if it's a little weird sometimes due to culture disparity - she's one of the few people that gets why he wants to just get rid of people and be done with it, without thinking too hard about nuance and shades of grey. |
CHELSEA MOORE
Cute girl that asks the important questions. Jake doesn't know her as well as he knows some of the others, but he likes her pretty okay. She seems like she can probably take care of herself, anyway. |
EMMERYN
An infuriatingly nice person. Jake isn't really sure what to do with her; he doesn't really have anything against her, but something about all the patience and niceness reminds him of stuff he was pretty content not being reminded of. |
ERU CHITANDA
Another one that vanished into thin air the day after the meeting with Saturn. He kind of hopes that she and Alice just left together to do things on their own, but he's not convinced that's the case. |
EUSTACE
Pretty stoic guy; those sure are dog ears. Jake doesn't know him all that well yet, but he seems okay. |
IGNIS SCIENTIA
Blind guy from a world that reminds Jake of his own, kind of. He seems pretty down for everything from diplomacy to stabbing people, which is a good trait to have; apparently he's some sort of politician or mediator or...something back where he came from. (Sometimes you've just gotta mediate with knives.) He's also got a good sense of humor on him, which is probably also a good trait to have when you're literally named Fire Knowledge - what the fuck is wrong with people in his world, who looks at an innocent baby boy and just does that. |
JOHAN ANDERSON
Kid who knew stuff about other dimensions and apparently hung out with a mercenary, which is never a dubious life choice. He seemed like a good enough kid, though, which is why the fact that he just up and vanished is...weird. He and the priest were both acting kind of weird when they left Pastoria, actually... |
KAYNETH EL-MELLOI ARCHIBALD
So this guy is pretentious as shit and did not make the greatest first impression, but that first day was kind of nobody's finest hour. He seems pretty smart, though, just kind of up himself. Jake thinks he's surprisingly okay? He just likes giving him a hard time. He also respects the guy a lot more after seeing him put his money where his mouth is and take on Maylene; he fought her well with what he had and was really gracious about getting his ass beat, which wasn't the most expected of things but at the same time, Jake can appreciate that. |
KAZUMA KIRYU
Kiryu's pretty great, actually? He hits like a train and he seems like he's got his head on right, though Jake's kind of wondering what the hell kind of life the guy's had to be doing half the stuff he does. ...Also, he apparently walked into the ocean and wrangled a fish with his bare hands, which is definitely a thing. Make a man out of everyone, Kiryu. |
LINDA
Jake doesn't know her yet, but he's seen her around; seems she's another one of those singer/idol people. |
MICHAEL
Apparently a literal from-Hell demon, but overall he's a pretty cool guy? He's got the best damn ideas. Jake likes him a lot, and he feels like he understands him a lot better now that they've talked about the whole demon thing a bit more. Apparently Michael's doing his best because he doesn't want to hurt or disappoint his friends back home, which is something Jake gets on a pretty personal level, given how similar it is to his situation with Sherry; it was actually really good to talk to someone who actually struggles with morality as well, given that a lot of the others seem to be actually decent people and Jake feels a bit lost talking to them sometimes. Michael is still down with murder and all that, which is fine by Jake, but outside of that Michael is turning into one of those people he actually wants to legitimately try to be a good person for, too. |
MORAG LADAIR
Nobody exactly made a good first impression here, but at least Jake can tell she's trying? He finds her really standoffish and has no idea who jammed the fireplace poker up her ass, but she seems to have everybody's best interests in mind at least. She seemed a bit down after the whole thing with Azelf, though; seems she's having doubts that this whole thing will be resolved peacefully, but she's going to do her best and Jake can respect that, honestly. |
REY
Rey is someone Jake bonded with quickly upon arriving in Sinnoh, and she's probably the closest to being considered a friend, which isn't a designation Jake bestows lightly. He feels like he can talk to her about pretty much anything; she understands things in a way that most people do not, and he just generally likes her company. She reminds him a lot of Sherry, and that's absolutely a compliment; he's aware that some of her issues clash violently with his, but it isn't something that he's unwilling to deal with and work through. Basically he just really likes seeing her and having her around; it's nice. |
RIN TOHSAKA
Rin seems pretty dedicated to figuring stuff out, which is something Jake can appreciate; it's good to have someone to bounce ideas off of, and she seems interested in helping people out. She's got a really straightforward way of talking about things and she's very blunt, which Jake likes in people because it means there's less chance for misunderstanding exactly what it is she means; he finds it a lot easier to open up to her as a result. He likes talking to her at fuckall o'clock at night, basically. |
SENA KOBAYAKAWA
Sena is a good kid, and whoever fucks with him is going to get their face ripped off. Sorry, Jake doesn't make the rules. ...Okay, but really, he's a kid that plays American football and is generally just a good guy doing his best, from what Jake can tell. He likes talking to him, it's weirdly relaxing to do so; Sena's good at putting people at ease, even when he's nervous or stressed out himself. Honestly, if Jake had a little brother, he'd hope he'd be like this kid. |
SHIROU KOTOMINE
Apparently a Catholic priest. Seemed pretty level-headed and even-handed, all things considered. That said, he and Johan vanished shortly after everyone left Pastoria City. Something happened there; hopefully it was a miracle... But probably not. |
VENTUS
A good kid who likes stories. He seems interested in looking out for the group in his own way, and seems to think bonding with them is important; Jake's really liked talking to him, even if he doesn't always know what to say. Another kid he sort of hopes doesn't turn out anything like he did, honestly. |
YURI LOWELL
Yuri is an asshole in the best sense of the word; he seems to like fucking with people a little and generally just being chill about stuff he probably shouldn't be chill about. Jake talks to him a lot, sometimes about some pretty serious stuff; Yuri's told him about killing a few people back where he came from, and about how sometimes you can't save everyone. He generally thinks Yuri's a good guy; he's the other one that Jake might kind of consider a friend here if asked. |
ZELDA
This is another person where the first impression was all around kind of shit, but the more he talks to her, the more he really likes her. They talk about all sorts of stuff; she's really into learning everything she can about stuff, but not in the hideous way that everyone back in Jake's world is, which is both weirding him out and kind of good to see. He sort of hopes she doesn't lose that. She's another one with a pretty big world disparity with him going on, but he doesn't consider it a bad thing; it's interesting to hear her talk about where she's from, but he's actually starting to give a lot more of a damn about her as a person, too - she seems like she's got a lot going on in her head, which is kind of a concern but also something he's not going to try to pry into too hard until he knows he can do it without being a goddamn asshole about it. |
